Festivals in Skyros

In Skyros there are festivals throughout the year which will stay with you for a long time. The festivals take place in the churches and chapels of the island, of which there are about 400.

When the service is completed the boards are placed in the churchyard. There are cauldrons with rice and goat or lamb. The feast with traditional songs starts and may lasts until the early morning hours.
